SSMS Vidyapeetha – Sri Shivayogi Munishwara Swamy Vidyapeetha ® – an initiative of Sri Kshetra Maralegavi Mutt – provides various faculties of education, to students from all strata of society.
It also administers about 980 hostel students at the head-quarters of the Mutt, and the same to many more students studying in other institutions affiliated to the Mutt.
SSMS Vidhyapeetha provides Primary and Secondary schooling, Pre-University schooling, Teachers Training, and Industrial training
Institute for skill-development programs. In addition, these institutions host units for performing Spiritual and Aesthetic activities, Scouts and Guides, National Service Scheme etc.
Presently, SSMS Vidyapeetha has school faculties at the head-quarters of the Mutt, where there are about 1000 children studying through Classes I – X.
The schools have 69 qualified and eminent teaching staff, 15 non-teaching staff, and 40 administrative staff rendering their service to the society along with Swamiji at the Mutt.
The campus of the Mutt hosts classrooms for primary and secondary schooling, Pre-university Schooling and ITI program, as also well-equipped facilities such as Computer Lab with Internet access, Library, and Science Lab.

- Inculcate a formal structure of learning and imbibe skill-sets that would enhance opportunities for individuals to gain employment, that would enable them to live with dignity and a natural sense of equality amidst mainstream society.
- Create a formal medium to provide for nutrition and regular health check-ups for children coming from low-income families.
- Children from families resident in the utmost rural and hilly areas of parts of Karnataka and Tamil Nadu.
- Children from local communities belonging to low-income , low-educational background families, who can neither afford nor understand the benefits for education.

Students are trained and formed into groups to promulgate an awareness program in Child Health Care and Environmental Sanctity.

Swamiji is highly regarded and revered by the local population in neighboring villages. He hence plays a pivotal role in their social unity and common justice system, where his words are undisputed, respected and accepted as truce. Many of the disputes that seek for Swamiji to resolve, comprise of local issues related to land sale and purchase, and domestic discrepancies within a joint family system regarding partition of properties.
Swamiji aims to negotiate resolutions which are accepted by the disputants as dispassionate and unbiased. It has established his reputation as an effective communicator, who endeavors to induce disputants to settle their quarrels out of court and police presence.
This has attained him great representation by one and all in neighboring villages, and his verdict is considered with undisputed acceptance by all concerned. Swamiji has thus garnered unity among villagers for any good cause that helps to adopt welfare programs. These programs are conceptualized and executed to reform change in human minds for a better united society.
Vidya Peetha imparts education to pupil from all strata of society and administers about 980 hostel students.
Morning prayer at the Vidhya Peetha, followed by the blessings of Swamiji, and a salute with biography of various prominent individuals, who have had dedicated their lives for the welfare of mankind like saints, patriots, scientists, and educationists in lieu to historical and cultural importance of India.
Students are also given an opportunity to serve food to all invitees and clean their dwelling. This helps develop the a sense of camaraderie among the students – co-operation, independence and compassion to the co-hostel mates.

Vidhya Peetha provides schooling from primary level to Industrial Training Institute. Swamiji personally supervises programs conducted by Vidhya Peetha to learn of the individual student participation.
This enables the seer to individually get to know his students as their guide and friend.
The students are taught Sanskrit Vedic verses and Yoga for good health.
Prominence to nutrition, hygiene, self-sufficiency and neighborly co-operation to fellow students is also taught in these sessions.
Students given opportunities to learn by the way of experimentation at the school laboratory.
A well-equipped library for students of various institutions of the Vidya Peetha, to help enrich their knowledge in art and scholastic subjects.
Vidya Peetha, has established a vocational course to provide opportunities to unemployed educated youths to hone their technical and technological skills that are required for on-field Industrial Training Program. This helps tackle unemployment among students as they are placed in a job, either in private or public sector.
To enable the students with the required skills and knowledge of the present-day internet system and computer technology, the Vidya Peetha has established a Computer Facility, equipped with adequate number of computer systems and instructors to assist its students.
The management of Vidya Peetha is committed to the supply of uniforms, textbooks, and school stationary to the economically challenged students studying in Vidya Peetha, and to students at the Ganganahalli branch.
To evolve a holistic development in students, Vidhya Peetha encourages its children to engage in extra-curricular activities, such as sports. The students are thus trained and coached in various fields of sport by the school faculty and employed coaches. This has helped students to recognize their talent and confidently participate in District and State level competitions.
Mr. Nandeesh M.L, student of Class 10 at Vidhya Peetha was selected for the State level Discuss-throw event.In previous years, Vidhya Peetha has had students selected in State-level Running race events (400m, 800m, 3000m and 10,000m), and Wrestling event in the category of 55 Kgs, 80 Kgs.
The Scouts and Guides were honored for their efficient service by the Vidhya Peetha.The same occasion also honored talents of students in various co-curricular and cultural activities. This event saw tremendous support by the neighboring villages, ex-students and some ministers of Karnataka, including Minister of Kamataka, Sri. D.K Shivakumar.
Two students of Vidya Peetha are representing Karnataka in the folklare (Kubera Naik).Hanumantha Naik, a student of Vidhya Peetha, represented Karnataka in folk dance with the Pooja Kunitha and Nandi Kamba Kunitha. He has also exhibited his talent during the Republic day celebrations in Pooja Kunitha and Kambada Kunitha. He and his team have received many certificates from Central government and various State governments in recognition of their talent.
Troop from Vidhya Peetha, representing Bangalore rural district and won 1st place at the Dasara cultural competitions held at Chitra Durga under the able guidance of Sri. K. Prabhuswmay, M.E., Principal, Industrial Training Institute – Sri Marale Gavi Mutt.
Drama troop of Vidya Peetha, presenting historical and Puranik drama with the accompaniment of harmonium music, under the able guidance of their drama master, Sri Kempanna. The troop is popular within the local community, and renders performances such as Jagajyothi Basaweshwara, Kurukshetra, Dana Shoora Kama, and Sampooma Ramayana.
The committee consists of President and one teacher from each educational institution of the Mutt.
Regular medical checkup for students every six months is administered by Vidhya Peetha.Leprosy was diagnosed in 3 students and was brought to the immediate notice of Health Department, where the necessary treatment was administered. These students are now completely recovered and freely moving around in the society as normal students and citizens.Another Student suffering from Neurological disorder was administered incessant treatment as advised by NIMHANS and is now in sound health.
